Alternatively, you could use it as a simple mixer without a DAW for on-the-road recording purposes. Latency is very good, drivers are stable, they even work under Linux from what I've heard. The price is unreal for the quality you get. Any advice or suggestions regarding alternatives appreciated. ![]() Since I'm on a budget I am looking att cost effective solutions and I stumbled across the Behringer UMC404HD which seems to cater for my needs.ĭoes anyone in here have any experience with it or heard anything positive/negative that I might take into consideration. So far I have used a Focusrite Scarlett Solo (2nd gen) since I only recorded vocals but now I obviously need more inputs and MIDI capability. In need to be able to record in stereo (The Ion has L/R unbalanced outputs) That leaves me with two problems:ġ: I need a MIDI in/out capable device to hook to my MacĢ. Up until yesterday I have only used Reason 10 with the built in machines, RE's and VST's but I found an Alesis Ion in excellent condition for €120 (roughly the same in USD). ![]()
